Budget garden DIY special from NZ Gardener magazine
Giving your garden a glow up doesn't have to break the bank. Pallets are readily available for free. Jacob Leaf shares an idea for using one to create a hanging tool rack.

Materials:
Primer and paint:
Cost:
$40 excluding Resene products.
Step one
Depending on what tools you want to hang, you can customise your pallet to suit. For my tool rack, I removed a top deck board to create a cavity for a long narrow cupboard on the left side of the middle stringer and a shelf on the right side of the middle stringer.
Step two
I trimmed down the deck board to make shelves.
Step three
I used a deck board from another pallet to make a cupboard door.
Step four
Paint, then attach hooks and hangers to hold your garden tools.
