Uniting Church, Clontarf, Queensland

The harsh coastal environment has played havoc with the coating system protecting the Uniting Church in Smith Street, Clontarf, Queensland since time immemorial.

Salt spray and sea breezes rendered the previous dark coating to just a shadow of the original hue. Restoring the church to former glory necessitated the development of special Resene colour matches to the original deep heritage colours.

These were quickly applied in a combination of Resene Lumbersider satin acrylic on exterior walls, Resene Waterborne Woodsman penetrating oil stain on faded timber and Resene Hi-Glo gloss acrylic on the roof. Fully restored and amply protected from the elements by the durable acrylic coating system, church-goers can visit their place of worship with pride.
