It’s fun to turn a plain ceramic animal into a colourful creation with a little bit of help from Resene.
Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 131
Difficulty level: Challenging

Baby seal in pink

Another idea: paint it blue
Top tip: If your ceramic animal is shiny, lightly sand it first and use Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer instead of Resene Acrylic Undercoat.
Here's another idea: This baby seal was painted with a Resene testpot of Resene Half Resolution Blue.
Step one
Carefully clean the ceramic animal with a damp sponge and allow to dry.
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Acrylic Undercoat to the ceramic animal and allow to dry.
Step three
Apply one coat of Resene Cabaret to the ceramic animal and allow to dry.
Step four
Apply a second coat of Resene Cabaret to the ceramic animal and allow to dry.
Step five
Paint two eye shapes using Resene Alabaster and allow to dry.
Step six
Paint two round shapes, as shown, using Resene Havelock Blue and allow to dry.
Step seven
Paint the eye details and the inside of the mouth using Resene Nero and allow to dry.
Step eight
Paint a small dot on each eye using Resene Alabaster and allow to dry. How cool is that!
