Background to mural creation:
This mural was created in response to work undertaken by Year 5-6 students about the health of Te Awarua O Porirua and the local stream that feeds into it. The students carefully looked at the importance of maintaining a healthy stream environment and key indicators of a healthy stream which include mayflies, dobsonflies, tuna etc.
