Geometric patterns are eye-catching yet there's something about the rhythmic structure of a geometric design that is also visually relaxing. Beware though – don’t overdo a bold graphic design or you may end up feeling dizzy. Stripes are a classic pattern for wallpapers and can be used to visually adjust a room’s proportions. Vertical stripes will make your room look taller, while horizontal stripes will make your room look wider. You can hang a wallpaper with vertical stripes sideways but make sure you use a level to ensure the design is straight.

did you know?  It's best to order more wallpaper than you need. New wallpaper collections are regularly launched and older collections are usually deleted after three years, sometimes sooner. If you need to patch or replace any damaged paper, you may not be able to buy it anymore. Also, with graphic wallpapers, pattern matching can soak up extra rolls.

Conversely, if you need to find a wallpaper to fit with a current scheme, find the A4 drawdown paint swatches in the colour library at your local Resene ColorShop of your existing room paint colours and hold them up against the wallpaper samples to see which combinations work best.
