Well received

The necessity of replacing their fireplace led to the total renovation of their lounge and dining areas. While they have previously used bright and vibrant colours, this project was in complete contrast to anything that they have done before.

Prior to the new clean burning wood-fire being installed they took the opportunity to plaster the existing brickwork. This was sealed with Resene Sureseal and topcoated with Resene Double Pravda. They liked this colour so much that they decided to use it on the non-descript plaster cornice around the top of the room. To create a more dramatic effect they used Resene Triple Pravda with bronze metallic highlights. Internal walls were repainted with Resene Sisal, with doors in Resene Akaroa with skirting boards and window frames in Resene Half Akaroa. Then they took the opportunity to create a feature wall between the lounge and dining areas using Resene wallpaper Organza 45701.

They introduced a bold accent colour by choosing Resene Flame curtains to complete the interior design. Along the way they have received many favourable comments from family and friends.
