Seven years in the making

Having fallen in love with an 1890s villa, they'll never forget the run down condition of the property with fluorescent coloured walls, paint flaking off the ceilings and bubbling wallpaper.

Nevertheless they purchased the property and have spent seven years renovating. It has been a challenging and time consuming project to bring this grand old villa back to life.

Resene Paints

They decided to use the Resene whites and neutrals colour range to complement the light kauri floors, fireplace surrounds and to enhance the villa's intricate details. The colours chosen were Resene Sisal, Resene Joanna, Resene White Rock and Resene Double Spanish White on the walls. All the skirting, doors and ceilings are Resene Double Pearl Lusta apart from the master bedrooms. Due to the large size of the rooms and 3.6 metre stud they accentuated the ceilings by using Resene Double Arrowtown and Resene Gargoyle which worked extremely well. In the children's room they used a playful combination of Resene Pohutukawa, Resene Carpe Diem and Resene Sushi to brighten it up. The kitchen was custom made to suit the style of the villa and has been painted in Resene Half Pearl Lusta with Resene Linen splashbacks. For the outside of the house they used Resene Black White, Resene New Denim Blue, Resene Tsunami and Resene Dark Knight. This is an ongoing labour of love with plenty of new projects to come.
