Times two
The house always had been a single colour, from white to terracotta to putty, so the thought was to add more of a modern look to the older style of house. The house has many different blocks' because of window seats, the shape of the main level and more rooms that were added on. These blocks were the inspiration for using different colours and where to use them. They wanted the majority of the front of the house to be a light colour but with a darker colour that contrasted well but still tied in with the forest green garage and front door. Resene Half Perfect Taupe because they fell in love with it straight away; it is the perfect light shade but not too white and feels warm. Looking through all the browns they seemed too intense until they spotted Resene Half Masala. It's not too brown or too grey and in different lights and different times of the day it can change and look like a different colour. Once the colours were chosen, painting the house was a collective effort. People comment on how great it looks and love the use of two colours. Now this older' house looks brand new!
