Seaside living

Splashback in Resene SinbadThis bach was built in the 1930s, and over the years it has had several add-ons, one of which was the kitchen built in the 1950s when power reached this area!  Once a summer holiday bach, it's now a permanent home.

With plans in place for a new kitchen and veranda, the house was also reroofed and ceilings replaced in the lounge area and main bedroom, due to water damage. The old kitchen was completely demolished and increased in size from 2 x 2 metres, to 4 x 3 metres.  The original veranda now has shutters and is a relaxing, cool outdoor room away from the very exposed seaward side of the house.  The outside extension was painted to match the existing colours with Resene Linen and Resene Mineral Green on the base. The kitchen walls and ceiling were painted in Resene Sea Fog and the glass splashback in Resene Sinbad.  The Resene Sea Fog was also continued into the dining area and lounge as a neutral backdrop for colourful furnishings and art.
