Sante Fe inspiration

Resene Paints

About six years ago, the Bells took a road trip from Miami to LA to see the south of the United States. They fell in love with New Mexico and decided that when they renovated their bach it was going to have all those beautiful adobe colours. After renovating the interior and extending it as well, they finally made it to the old exterior of the house. They started renovating the old front and sides of the house but got interrupted by an earthquake that destroyed their chimney and put a hold on their project.

They chose Resene Sante Fe for the walls, exactly the colour they remember from their days in Santa Fe and Resene Dorado for the eaves, windows and door trims, and the door itself. In New Mexico most doors or gates were painted in a turquoise colour and they wanted to introduce that colour as well as an accent colour. They chose Resene Retreat and painted the old pub bench that they inherited from the previous owners as well as all the signs for the herb garden on the raised deck. The fence was stained in Resene Iroko, which works really well with the evergreen plants and white flowers. Since the front garden gets the afternoon sun, it is the perfect place to relax after work and the walls glow like fire in the setting sun. It is absolutely beautiful and peaceful.
