Bringing the beach home

Richard and Peta had the pleasure of building their first home together.  The builder did offer the assistance of his colour consultant but they felt they already had a good idea of what they wanted with design experience in landscaping and hair styling providing them with an appreciation of colours and how they work together.

They decided after viewing numerous open homes to go with colours that complemented the ‘beachy’ feel of the area.

They both loved the colour Resene Quarter Ash and felt this would go well on the walls throughout the whole house as it is a neutral colour that can be matched with most colours. They were both keen on a duck egg blue for the splashbacks. However they found it was greener than what they imagined, so they opted for Resene Ziggurat instead, which is a perfect contrast to use on the glass splashbacks with the Resene Quarter Ash walls and Resene Alabaster ceilings.

The home is now finished and painted and they have settled in. Friends coming around to visit all comment how they love the colours.
