Decorating inspiration gallery
Open up to easier livingThis home is a 50s bungalow on an elevated site with a lovely outlook. The existing kitchen was dysfunctional, ugly and had no flow. The stairs were accessed from the bedroom corridor to the rumpus room/bar/second living area downstairs. The aim was to open up the living, dining and kitchen areas, put in a new kitchen and change the access to the stairwell.
They removed a non-load bearing wall dividing the kitchen from the dining/living room, altered the entryway to allow access to the stairs from the living/entry, thereby blocking the stairs from the bedroom corridor. They put in a new kitchen, new floorcoverings in the kitchen, living and bedroom areas, and have completely redecorated. They have used Resene Eighth Pravda on the kitchen and dining room walls, Resene Triple Truffle in the lounge and entry and Resene Quarter Bianca on ceilings and trims.
