In memory

The King family moved into their dream home in Waipukurau. This beautiful, elegant, late Victorian/transitional bungalow was built as an Anglican Vicarage in 1920, nestled in 3080 square metres of established trees and lawn. With five bedrooms, wrap around verandahs, open plan family room/kitchen and formal living area, it ticked all the boxes. Polished matai floorboards almost throughout, heart rimu doorsand an elevenfoot stud made for a wonderful feeling of space.

Resene Paints

When redecorating, they wanted to honour her heritage and not decorate the sizeable rooms in a modern way. The entire house was painted insidein a deep 'tea' taupe colour and felt like the inside of a battle ship. This beautiful old lady needed some colour.

They first painted the frontroom to be used as a 'bed and breakfast' guest room using Resene Crisp Green from the Karen Walker Paints collection. Even though itís quite a deep green it glows warmth and life into the well lit room and ties the view of the garden in to the house.

The other room is devoted to the memory of a favourite grandmother and her favourite colour... purple using Resene Lily. This room is feminine but elegant with the old oak bed and frilly wrought iron furniture. To offset the rich purple the large abstract garden scene was painted using soft chartreuse green and peach

This is just the beginning.
