Not white

Jacqui's initial thought regarding the colour for her kitchen was... not white! This was a 100 year old kitchen crying out for effectiveness.

She knew the kitchen could handle some colour and with a slight challenge she welcomed the aspect that there was a grand avenue of colours waiting for her to bring in.

The room was completely stripped. Four layers on the floor were scraped away to reveal 100 year old Matai Retaining all the solid wood cupboards, they were revived by a professional painter leaving him somewhat bemused with the colour chosen - Resene Rhythm.

Jacqui painted the walls with Resene Quarter Concrete and felt she could get away with glass splashbacks in Resene Limerick that would enhance the shelves painted with Resene Armadillo. The concrete benchtops, which her brother designed and poured on site, have been edged with stainless. An experiment that has worked extremely well.
