Room by colourful room

Every room has a different theme but when you look from one room to the other, everything blends nicely.

Danica's cute homely villa on two and a half acres in Central Hawkes Bay came with a long settlement period, which gave her plenty of time to plan her colour schemes. The owners kindly let her measure up rooms so she could buy the paint ready to start.

The house interior had not been touched since the house was brought back to life from condemnation in the late 1980s so it was perfect as a blank canvas for her creative enthusiasm. Last summer she painted and wallpapered every weekend and in the evenings as well.

The bedroom is finished in Resene Geraldine. Resene Broom features in the kitchen and Resene Colour Me Pink in the hall, while moody Resene Zeppelin is in the dining room. The lounge is painted in a combination of Resene Moleskin and Resene Soapstone. The Resene Moleskin also appears in the dressing room alongside Resene Island Spice and Resene Whizz Bang.

Danica has used Komar mural panels to theme two of the rooms and just loves the effect. The main bedroom has a tropical theme and when the sun's rays come in through the lace on the bottom of the curtain (a throw with wedding lace sewn on the bottom) it is a heavenly place to be.

Thanks to Danica.
