Step by step

Choosing the colours for Christine's home was done on a step by step basis.

She knew that she wanted a neutral palette with pops of colour to add impact to the space. The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen were key areas as all the other spaces radiated off these areas, and therefore this formed the foundation for the rest of the home.

Christine started with Resene Half Pearl Lusta to provide a warm white background in the kitchen/dining space. The splash back was done in Resene Soft Apple which added colour to the space, but was light enough to allow the decal to pop. The lounge has a more relaxed feel with Resene Biscotti. This gave a very earthy feel and complemented the large wall mural in this space.

She wanted to have a fun feel to the children's rooms so opted for feature walls in Resene True Blue and Resene Sugar And Spice from the Resene KidzColour range.

The master bedroom was a poorly lit space so the yellow tones of Resene Haystack made the space feel warmer and provided a great neutral background to the feature wall behind the bed painted in Resene Stun from the Resene metallic range.

In the home office Christine wanted a bold colour that would contrast against the white decal, so opted for Resene Casal.
