Forever home

After renovating many homes over the years, all in neutral décor, Sarah really let her creative juices flow in their ‘forever home’.

Resene Wasabi and Resene Gothic

The property was purchased in its original 70s condition and Sarah and Brian have been renovating it exactly to their tastes over three years.

Sarah really liked the old cupboards in the kitchen and a brand new kitchen didn’t appeal to her, or their budget. So they kept the original cupboards and had all the doors professionally painted in their choice of Resene Wasabi, Resene Gothic, Resene Black and Resene Blanc. Polishing up the original handles and putting in modern appliances and a new benchtop, the kitchen came up an absolute treat and is the talk of visitors.

The dining room features Resene Gravel with a retro wallpaper.

The rest of the house is fairly neutral, using Resene Quarter Truffle and Resene ceiling paint throughout. They used Resene Blanc to paint over the red brick fireplace that dominated the lounge room and Resene Gravel on the hearth stone.

The master bedroom uses Resene Gravel as the feature wall and Resene Quarter Truffle for the rest. Painting the wooden panel wardrobe doors the same as the walls and adding a mirror really opened up the room.

The exterior of the house is painted in Resene Foggy Grey and the exterior of the sleepout is Resene Gravel with the door in Resene Wasabi.

The leftover Resene paint has been used to paint feature walls, gates, plant pots and herb planters in the garden and even the letterbox! The colours all tie in perfectly with the inside.
