Gemma wanted to add some colour to the open plan living space, without having to hire someone or putting up with mess for weeks.

Gemma bought her first home and although it had the clean, modern open plan design she loves, the white on white colour scheme felt too impersonal. Gemma likes bright colours, which you can tell just by looking at her clothes and lipstick on any given day! She wanted to add some colour to the open plan living space, without having to hire someone or putting up with mess for weeks.
Gemma spent many evenings scanning Pinterest for inspiration, and decided on a geometric theme that would inject areas of colour while complementing the art that she had collected overseas and her furniture. The first part of the project was to paint the laundry double doors. The triangular pattern was easy to do in Resene Such Fun and Resene Deep Blush by outlining the area with low-tack painter’s tape. Then two more triangles were added – one large one in Resene Kitsch and a small one in Resene Such Fun.

The gas fireplace is an attention grabbing feature of the living space, and Gemma wanted the room to have a cosy feel on cold nights sitting around the fire. She painted a square of Resene Bright Spark around the fireplace, with a thin line of Resene Bombshell at the top to give it some edge.
Thanks to Gemma.
