The power of three
At the end of last year, Catherine decided she was very bored with her neutral bedroom colour. She had picked up a canvas with a Pacifica coloured theme and decided to base her new room colour around the canvas.
After mucking about with various testpots, I decided my final three favourites were Resene Marathon, Resene Bali Hai and Resene Espirit. But then Catherine had the dilemma of deciding a final colour out of the three. In the end she couldn’t decide, so thought “why not use all 3?”
Catherine didn’t want just one wall painted all of one tone, so she taped off a pattern on the wall behind the bed as a feature. Catherine describes she then got carried away and decided to run the pattern and colours around the corner of the room, up to the ensuite doorway.
Since then, Catherine has been gradually adding accessories inspired by the Resene colours on the bedroom wall. Having the three colours provides more scope for accessorising.
