Art Deco twist

The colours reflect the colours and the light that Shivaun has grown up with in New Zealand with the influence of the Pacific Island colours.

Art Deco architecture is big and bold

Shivaun is an Art Deco fan and since moving into her home some time ago she has been thinking about what colours to paint their house, before deciding on a theme of 'Modern Art Deco with a South Pacific Twist'.

Art Deco architecture is big and bold. No blending into the background. Because of this Shivaun was able to choose bright, bold colours. The colours reflect the colours and the light that Shivaun has grown up with in New Zealand with the influence of the Pacific Island colours.

As it's turned out Shivaun chose the colours of nature – blues, yellow/green and white. The Resene Blumine comes from the colour of the water in Wellington Harbour on a sunny day. Resene Riptide from a walk where Shivaun came across a small fence that grabbed her attention. She's always wanted to live in a yellow house. The white Resene Alabaster was chosen because it helps to define all the other colours; a rest for the eye from the bright colours.

The colours of nature lay over the big, bold architecture of the house complementing each other.
