Stencil styling
With two rooms to decorate, Kirsty had a chance to try out two colour palettes.
In the spare room Kirsty wanted to have a feature wall that wasn't too dark so that it didn't close in the room yet made a statement. After many testpots she decided to go with Resene Silver Chalice as the feature wall and Resene Quarter Iron on the surrounding walls.
In the master bedroom Kirsty used Resene Quarter Periglacial Blue. She loves this colour as it can throw green, blue and grey tones making it pretty neutral but has a hint of colour. Kirsty also wanted a patterned feature wall in this room. She searched through many wallpapers looking for something that had zig zags but couldn't find exactly the right paper. She ended up purchasing a herringbone stencil online. She then first painted the wall white and used Resene Quarter Periglacial Blue using the stencil. The result far exceeded her expectations and it was a cheaper alternative to wallpaper.
