Recycled into a holiday home

The recycled kitchen and carpet dictated the base of the interior colour palette and Erin created a Scandinavian/bach feel to blend it all together.

She created a Scandinavian/bach feel

Erin knew they would be building a holiday home, so when the opportunity arose in late 2011 to salvage the demolition of the insides of a three bedroom apartment they put their hands up and hoped to give it a new lease on life. The apartment ended up in storage for just over three years but finally it has found its new home.

With new bones clad in Resene Ironsand corrugated iron and Resene Quarter Ironsand painted Shadowclad®, the interior of this relaxing retreat has an old soul and can hopefully now rest easy after its shaky start to life.

The recycled kitchen and carpet dictated the base of the interior colour palette and Erin created a Scandinavian/bach feel to blend it all together. While most of the palette is neutral with Resene Double Alabaster on ceilings, walls and doors, the warmth of the internal ply ceilings sealed with Resene Polyurethane and the beautiful Resene Quarter Powder Blue from the Karen Walker Paints collection were the perfect additions to the colour palette.

Now they just love the weekends.
