A magnetic finish for a son

Soretta knew she wanted two colours in his room, one neutral and one brighter colour.

Resene Pelorous wall and Resene Half Tea

Soretta's whole house is in dire need of redecorating, but since she would be doing this part on her own she chose the smallest room in the house to start – her son's bedroom.

She scoured the Resene website looking at colours. Since the house was completely white inside, Soretta knew she wanted two colours in his room, one neutral and one brighter colour. She looked in the Resene Decorating Inspiration Gallery online and fell in love with the first colour she looked at - Resene Pelorous. For the neutral she chose Resene Half Tea.

Soretta decided to have a bit of fun with it and painted the wardrobe door, the pelmet and a cork board with Resene Magnetic Magic. For the MDF lettering, she painted them in Resene Half Tea and Resene Yeehaa. She purchased magnetic strips and glued them to the back of the lettering and tested them against the pelmet to check they would stay on well to the Resene Magnetic Magic before topcoating.

The final accent of the room was the econo-heater which Soretta painted with Resene Pelorous, which was placed back onto the wall painted in Half Tea. The doors, window sill, skirting and scotias were painted with Resene Lustacryl in Resene White.
