Serendipity shows the way

Serendipity showed Julie the amazing backdrop a green wall can bring to a garden, and serendipity brought her right back to this home and garden where she knew just the colour it needed.

Having been abroad as a florist and working with plants and trees, Julie needed a colour that would both harmonise and sympathise with the stalwarts of her garden and yet still let the feature plants sing. She had always dreamed of being surrounded in a green bedroom with plants all around, enveloping her.

So, down a short driveway, her little modernist bungalow sits tucked into the landscape, hugged by the surrounding plants, acting as a backdrop to the garden, and yet an intricate essential part of it as well.

Black, white and green are the colours that Julie returns to time and time again. They make her feel part of the world, the contrast and the harmony.

Julie painted her home exterior in Resene Parsley with Resene Alabaster, Resene Cod Grey, Resene Nero, Resene Rice Cake and Resene Merino inside, with a bedroom soon to be in Resene Mine Shaft.

Life is about to begin a new journey with Julie's mum moving in, so they are now in the final stages of a renovation of half the house including rebuilding an entire exterior wall!

Julie can't wait to sit back and just stare at her home and garden working beautifully together and think thank goodness for serendipity!

Thanks to Julie.
