As parents to a boy and twins, life as you can imagine is very busy. Despite this the Waites family have taken on a renovation of a beautiful home.

Built in 1959 and with a number of updates over the years the 320 square metre red brick home is a labour of love. They have renovated small areas of the home but this year undertook the massive renovation of the kitchen and dining, which allowed them to create a cute boy’s room for their son. This was his first space away from his twin sister to call his own. It’s a relaxed room, now painted in Resene Gondwana and Resene Black White, which is a sun trap in the afternoon.

For the kitchen renovation they wanted a simple white kitchen to enhance the existing beautiful bones of the house. Finding a paint colour was reasonably simple with the Resene ColorShop being able to tint a Resene version of Arctic White to suit the Arctic White cabinetry.
As a splash of colour and to indulge a love of blue, Resene Biscay was painted on two walls across the kitchen and dining room. It enhances the red brick features of this home. This colour is continued into the toilet with a quirky mix of tiles.

Thanks to the Waites family.
