Putting down roots with colour

The McNeil family purchased this lifestyle property almost five years ago, tired of the numerous moves between air force married quarters. They fell in love with the grounds, garden and prospect of turning the beautiful homestead into something special.

Office - with wallpaper inspiration.

A combination of wallpaper and paint in the main hallway has created a clever illusion. Resene Alabaster is painted throughout and the dotty wall was created using vinyl spot wall stickers.

The kitchen chill spot takes on a look of the woods with wallpaper, with touches of paint using Resene Black high gloss on the window and rattan chair, Resene Turbo high gloss on the plant stand and white Resene Ceiling Paint.

Kitchen area

The office is the latest piece of the project and is such a nice place to work with the gardens and rural outlook. The roller blind was upcycled into a piece of art with the use of various Resene testpots they have accumulated. The Deco Anaglypta wallpaper is painted in Resene Alabaster and Resene Starstruck.

Their daughter’s room is pink, with a mutually agreed upon pinkie pie palette. The main colour Resene Sweet Spot is a vintage/adult pink that could be easily restyled with the Resene Hopskotch pink on the wardrobe being more playful.
