Starry starry night
What started as an idea for a dark blue wall to cosy up their son’s room snowballed into a full outer- space wall! This was partly due to a visit to a Resene ColorShop where they discovered Resene FX Nightlight glow in the dark paint, which gave them the idea of including stars on the wall.
The room was painted during nap times using Resene Blue Night, Resene Ashanti, Resene Smashing, Resene Tulip Tree and Resene Quarter Thorndon Cream. They painted patches of Resene FX Nightlight paint on the light wall which we masked with star stickers. All the elements were hand drawn and painted. They were holding our breath a lot! But the paint covered well and was easy to apply to small and large spaces. The clouds connect the three different coloured walls so the room is still light-filled but the space wall adds a really dramatic touch.
Most importantly, their son loves lying in bed and watching the stars at night. It encourages their little night owl to stay in bed and relax!
