Sunset serenity
Renovations have transformed the living space into a perpetual evening sunset sky that they love.
After buying their first home, the Wright family gutted the house from top to bottom and began phase one of their renovations thinking through the design and finishes they wanted, space by space, area by area. Visiting the home show for contacts and extra inspiration, they came up with their plan of attack.
During the works and often in the evening when packing up for the day, the setting of the sun would create a beautiful palette of colours in the sky, which they always stopped to enjoy. An idea sprung to mind as to whether they could bring some of those sunset colours into their home.
After some online research they found ombre painting and loved the effect. Our paint colours were already purchased before discovered ombre painting, yet we were able to use Resene Half Silver Chalice which is the main colour throughout their home and Resene Paper Doll selected for their kids’ room and combine them perfectly to recreate the evening greys and pinks so much enjoyed in the sun setting skyline.
