Teenage treasure

This room was designed by the Bransgrove family for their teenage daughter.

Their daughter was given the choice to choose what she would like, but with all the options available she couldn’t decide on the right combination. So mum and dad stepped in, creating a room to surprise her.

Teals and blues are colour themes repeated throughout this home and this room is no exception. With the assistance and expertise of designer painting company Eye 4 Detail, their daughter’s twin chose the colours and design and they all got stuck in while their daughter was away.

The gold metallic stripes of the feature wall, in Resene Gold, create a rich warm feel and the teal of Resene Java, and a three quarter strength version, brings a freshness to the room, and together they make for an enchanting colour scheme.

The bright teal blue of the other walls adds a satisfying pop of intense colour to the space, and the cream surround above the picture rail saves the room from becoming overwhelming.

All the furniture was hand painted, and designed to complement the scheme. The blue and teal dresser alone was painted using over six different colour shades!

They had huge fun putting this room together as a family project.
