Daredevil inspired

Emily and Jon painted their house after a major renovation.

The main inspiration for much of the colour inside and out was the colour Resene Daredevil, which features as part of the home’s colour palette. This was chosen due to the colouring of the inhabitants of the house (three gingers) and an obsession with a German train colour scheme.

They looked for light colours in their children’s rooms but couldn’t resist a feature Resene wallpaper in their daughter’s room.

They painted the laundry doors in Resene Blackboard Paint – and have found them perfect for lists and spelling homework. And the leftover Resene Blackboard Paint has given them the opportunity to try some fun craft projects, including painting Christmas cookie tubs!

The downstairs oddly shaped ‘learning annex’ is really a mancave. The joiners created an in built whisky train shrine and the framing didn’t look right so Jon painted it with Resene Saddle Brown and Resene Gold Dust.

The children have their own framed tunnel between the two back to back wardrobes. Framed in Resene Quarter Pearl Lusta it intermittently needs to be blocked off due to warring children!

The rest of the home’s palette includes neutrals of Resene Surrender, Resene Grey Friars, Resene Half Truffle, Resene Quarter Truffle and Resene White, with colours of Resene Half Cut Glass and Resene Half Moonbeam.
