Making it her own

After becoming the sole owner of a home she had lived in for 14 years, Jane decided to make it her very own by repainting it.

While deciding on house colours Jane painted a rainbow of colours on the side of her garage. Not only was this colourful fun, but it also helped Jane gain confidence working with lots of different colours and helped her to visualise what her home would look like painted.

Jane narrowed down her colour choices to Resene Bush as the main colour with Resene Pohutukawa and Resene Purple Rain for the windows. The names of the colours appealed as much as the colours themselves.

Painting on stucco was hard work but with such a vivid colour change from the original white to the deep Resene Bush, it has been hugely satisfying to see the transformation. With more Resene testpots in hand, Jane also painted a mandala on her fence, reflecting even more of her personality.

Jane finds the green is really restful and makes her feel as though she is in the bush, a place she loves to be.
