Wow with wallpaper

Resene has been a regular haunt of Anna’s since she moved to New Zealand and has painstakingly restored her Kiwiana house.

Anna recently visited her Resene ColorShop to buy the final tin of floor paint, Resene Surrender, a light grey.

She mentioned to the Resene staff that she just needed to make a real ‘wow’ statement in the kitchen as the main entrance comes into it and as a B&B for international guests it really needed something special. Resene staff suggested using a range of wallpaper designs.

Anna loved the idea as it fits so well with her quirky place and creative nature. A very practical and capable friend agreed to help with the work.

The first task was to prepare the walls, ensuring the horizontals and verticals were to a very high standard of accuracy to get a great effect. Anna set a time limit of one Sunday afternoon – that was somewhat optimistic! It took a lot longer to organise all the pieces of wallpaper, cut them with a Stanley knife and lay them out on a pencil grid. But Anna tells us it was well worth EVERY second as they loved creating this together.
