Warm warm warm

Thanks to little more than a coat of paint a dowdy old house has been transformed into a vibrant retreat, always warm no matter what the weather.

A warm and vibrant home interior

Having lived in the 'Riveria of Antarctica' for several years the driving motif for the renovation of the interior of the McGee's 1913 Dunedin house was simple – make it warm! They wanted a house that not only radiated heat but had strong saturated colours to provide a solid backdrop to the pictures produced by the two resident artists.

The McGees headed straight to the Resene The Range 2003 and found the perfect combination of colours with ease. One step into the house and visitors are greeted by the warmth of Resene Saffron. This friendly yellow flows through the house connecting the hallways with the exciting Resene Lusty in the lounge and dining room and the more serene Resene Greenback in the bedroom.

To unite all these strong colours they chose the rich cream of Resene Givry for window and door trims and skirting boards. The ceilings were kept light but still warm with Resene Dutch White.

The bathroom was once a dreary room with almond fittings but it was transformed by a combination of Resene Givry and the luscious Resene Zibibbo.
