Water's edge

Half mix of Resene Cedar and Resene Treehouse on the decksWhen Janet built her home 7 years ago in plywood and batten, she thought she'd leave it to weather to a natural silver look. However, unfortunately the house tended to look dirty and became very hard to clean.

So it was time for a new plan and Janet used Resene Woodsman penetrating oil stain tinted to a half strength mix of Resene Limed Oak on the walls and a half mix of Resene Cedar and Resene Treehouse on the decks. These colours are complemented by Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene San Marino on trims. The dirt is now banished and the coated areas are easy to keep clean.

Janet had an extra helper with the painting - her 14 year old daughter. They both found Resene Woodsman easy to use, drying quickly and because they could walk on it quite soon after applying it they could still get in and out of the house.

The walls were stained well over a year ago. The north facing house sits in full sun on the water's edge and the finish still looks like the day it was applied. So now that Janet has the house protected, she can sit back and enjoy the environment without worrying about the house.
