Beach
do-up
With the paintwork on their beach house at Whangamata becoming
flaky and tired, Claire decided it was time to modernise the finish
without breaking the bank.
The main house colour, white, was retained for budget purposes.
The peppermint green that covered the windowsills, triangular
feature boards and garage doors was changed to Resene Arrowtown.
Some of the door surrounds and bargeboards that were once white
were also redecorated in Resene Arrowtown, giving the house more
impact.
The green under the eves and porch area was repainted in Resene
Tea while the roof was changed from dark grey to the lighter Resene
Sword. The lighter grey matched the silver joinery and the grey
paved driveway, complementing the new neutral palette.

With all hands on deck, the five family members did everything
from preparing the surface to painting the roof. The house has
been modernised, changing the entire colour scheme without spending
too much money or time.
