Complementary blue

The Taylor family have just finished converting their garage into an extra room. This involved the extension of their sunroom, which has extended water views that look out onto the Mount, so that they could have a staircase going down into the room.

The extension of the sunroom necessitated a new face on the front of the house. Keen for this to blend in with the existing house, Lynette took a piece of wood to Resene, which she matched up to Resene Lumbersider Cool Colour tinted to Resene Blackout. Lyn says "I must admit I was fascinated to find out that this paint has the ability to reflect light despite being a dark shade, thus protecting the wood below."

Inside they chose to use Resene Subzero opposite the stairwell as a feature wall and then continue the colour into the extra room. They find this blue reflects the  blue sea and complements the panoramic views of the sky, which can be viewed when sitting in our sunroom.
