Home for work
They decided that they really needed to repaint the building as they had never liked the colour and it was looking terrible. Originally they had wanted to paint the house in light colours, bringing in all the deco accents that were originally on the building before the prior owners painted nearly everything lemon yellow. However, due to the regularity with which the building is tagged they decided to go with darker colours. They chose shades of warm grey, with light blue accents and a darker base that keeps the building deco inspired. They painted the building themselves, which took about four weeks from start to finish, including stripping back all the steel windows which was a tedious task. They then changed out the glass in all the windows to double glazing and at the front of the building to opaque glass for privacy. Resene Gravel is the main colour combined with a base of Resene Bokara Grey, windows and door surrounds in Resene Gunsmoke and accents and the main door in Resene Gothic. They are exceedingly happy with the results as their iconic building now makes a bold statement, and they have had an excellent response from the locals.
