Let dark tone-on-tone colour draw you in. Indulge in luxe minimalism...

There’s a dramatic colour trend doing the rounds – dark tone-on-tone rooms that are at once cocooning and welcoming, but also strikingly rich. Use flat paint finishes, such as Resene SpaceCote Flat, to bring out the depth in dark colours. Try just a couple of designer pieces of furniture for a minimalist, architectural feel, or add more accessories for a plusher approach. Lighter grey-blue tones will keep a dark scheme from becoming too oppressive, and textural elements such as panelling and fabrics will add interest. Such schemes can be easily switched up by adding warm coloured accents.
