Patterned perfection

Colour trends from NZ House and Garden magazine

Use a beautiful design for interior cohesion.

Taking inspiration for a Resene colour scheme from a favourite fabric, artwork or wallpaper is a well-established interior design practise. But it’s possible to take that one step further by not only drawing on the colours, but also the pattern. Then with a few artistic skills, that design can be used to paint other items in the room such as a vase or a piece of furniture. It creates a cohesive look and isn’t as difficult as you might fear. Resene testpots are perfect for this type of creative endeavour – they’re inexpensive and have just the right amount of paint. Once you’re happy with your piece, you can adjust the sheen with a Resene Aquaclear urethane clear finish.
