Colour trends from NZ House and Garden magazine
All is calm with a tonal colour scheme.
Tonal colour schemes have traditionally been based around pale neutrals but there are many beautiful families of Resene colour that can be used to create a tonal look. It’s a decorative technique that layers multiple strengths of a single paint colour (such as half, double and triple) or similar colours but at varying depths to create a modern pared-back aesthetic. It’s a more subtle version of the current trend for colour-drenching which takes the tonal look one step further by using the same strong colour or similar colours over all surfaces of a room. The Resene Multi-finish colour collection makes it easy to assemble a tone-on-tone scheme as the paint colours are organised into similar shades on the various palette cards. So whether you love pink, green, blue or strong earthy tones, there’s a tonal Resene scheme waiting for you.
