Colour trends from NZ House and Garden magazine
This year, create a bespoke Christmas.
When it comes to Christmas decorating, our approaches are as varied as our individual tastes. You may opt for traditional colours, such as green and red, to create a festive space that’s rich in nostalgia. Or chose something quite different, using Resene paint as your inspiration. All it may take is the inclusion of one unusual hue, such as pink or blue. You might base your scheme on a colour that’s close to a traditional hue, such as the soft clay gold, Resene Putty, used here. Then layer less likely tones on top as accents – this creates a fresher look that’s more suited to our warmer climate and our often laidback approach to Christmas festivities. Give your decorations a quick refresh and paint bespoke wrapping paper using Resene testpots, which are perfect for small projects like this. Anything goes, as long as you like it.
