Supplies
Step 1
Step 2Step 1: Clean the frame well, and let it thoroughly dry. Paint on two coats of Resene Enamacryl in your chosen colour.
Step 2: Decide where your stencil patterns will lie and what colours you will use. Measure and mark the placement with pieces of masking tape. We have used a variety of colours but you may decide to use only one, or two. NB: You will be painting on the back of the glass, not the front, so that the paint is protected from wear and tear.
Fix the stencil with masking tape on to the reverse of the glass, and start to fill in your colours, dabbing gently with the sponge. Repeat taping and painting until finished, applying two coats of paint if necessary.
You can use spray adhesive if the stencil is quite complex or you find the paint bleeds beneath the stencil. Spray lightly and let the glue mostly dry before placing on the glass otherwise it won’t peel off cleanly. Gently peel off each stencil when finished.
