bach and beyond

From Habitat magazine - issue 21

Sea air, and sand between your toes… bliss.

The salt sea air in your hair, sand between your toes and a hot pink Resene Smitten bench to relax on. Life couldn't be better. It's all set against an easy-to-achieve ombre wall, where colour graduates from light to dark – Resene Solitude, Resene Breathless, Resene Frozen and Resene Blue Moon. Alongside the seat, pots are painted in Resene Freefall (small) and Resene Skydiver (large) while the deck is in Resene Limed Ash stain. Add some tussock grasses, a beachy blanket and a hurricane lamp and you're ready to relax at the beach.

Easy ombre

This is a super-easy way to create an ombre (graduated tonal colour) wall. Simply paint a series of planks or weatherboards in dark to light shades of the same colour using a decreasing number of boards – five for the darkest, then four for the next colour and so on.
