Shaker-style doors feature simple wood panelling that gives them an added heritage appeal and gives your rooms some added visual texture.
After removing your doors, clean with Resene Interior Paintwork Cleaner, then sand and wipe off sanding dust. Fill any holes with Resene EzyFill Quick. We finished our doors with fresh coats of Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss tinted to Resene Half Tana, which works well in this room against the walls painted in Resene Black White and trim in Resene White, but use whatever colour suits your interior. We’ve also added stylish new gold door handles.

top tip A semi-gloss finish like Resene Lustacryl is a good choice for doors and trim areas as it’s durable and easy to wipe down. For a higher sheen finish, use Resene Enamacryl gloss.
Set up a work area outside then remove each door from its hinges and place on sawhorse stands for easy working.
Carefully cut your door panels to the desired lengths for your door. You can have these cut to size at your local timber supplier if you prefer.
