Creator of Canadiana, Wayne Gibson, has brought a touch of Canadian and North American charm home with his vibrant Adirondack chairs. Inspired by the stunning designs he encountered while skiing at Whiteface Mountain in Canada, Wayne has reimagined these iconic pieces for local tastes and lifestyles as more of us embrace the comfort and style of these classic outdoor chairs.

Wayne's journey began after returning from 25 years in Canada, where he was inspired by the variety and popularity of Adirondack chairs. Upon his return, he decided to turn his passion into a full-time business. His admiration for the Lutyens Bench also played a pivotal role in his journey, with one of his creations gracing the front page of Your Home and Garden magazine, leading to a flurry of orders and many sleepless nights.

This spring-like green bench, painted in Resene Dizzy Lizzy, brightens this garden, complementing the flowers and greenery.

Wayne’s creations are made from New Zealand Pine, sourced from mature trees. His choice of materials and methods reflects his commitment to quality and durability.

When it comes to painting his creations, Wayne uses an array of Resene hues, chosen for the quality and great colour selection available. His palette is inspired by the vibrant hues and designs of chairs he saw in Whiteface. With so many shades to choose from, he has a particular soft spot for bold, bright colours like Resene Dizzy Lizzy and Resene Hyperactive.

With a good eye for colour and design, Wayne has opted to use durable Resene Lustacryl in a variety of other summery shades like Resene Turbo, a sunshine yellow, Resene Smashing, a bold red and Resene Surfs Up, a deep sea blue. These chairs add a cheerful pop and stunning contrast to any garden setting. Whether placed on a deck or nestled in a blooming garden, Wayne’s Adirondack chairs invite relaxation and conversation.
