Easy DIY for the whole family.

Play time

Forget the classic tyre swing. Instead try upcycling an old tyre into a fun and unique mini-seesaw that will keep the kids entertained for hours. Using both halves of the tyre you could even make two! With some rope, a piece of wood and Resene paint you can create and paint to suit any colour theme or design you like. We’ve opted for tiger stripes, but maybe your kids might prefer dinosaur greens, cheetah spots or just a mix of random shapes and colours.

Me time

Never lose your place again with this easy book holder. Not only is it super simple to make and super practical for your book, the inside of this smart design is a great place to store reading glasses, your phone or even a small bowl of tasty snacks. A great tip for projects like this that will be used a lot is to finish with Resene Aquaclear to give them a durable, wipe-able finish. It'll help keep them looking good for longer.

top tip  Mix Resene Colour Enhance with Resene clear finishes such as Resene Aquaclear or Resene Qristal ClearFloor 1K and apply onto interior timber surfaces without having to strip back to bare timber. Or add to Resene Concrete Clear to colour concrete.

This simple stylish box bed is the perfect solution. Resene Colour Enhance is a great option if you’re using upcycled wood or want the look of older timber as it adds colour while allowing the wood grain to show through.
