Build a magazine rack

Looking for a way to keep your collection of beloved magazines tidy? This Scandi-inspired magazine rack is finished in a beautiful Resene stain and will look sleek and stylish in the living room.

You will need: Resene testpot in Resene Colorwood Dark Oak stain, Resene testpot in Resene Chalk Dust, 2 pieces of plywood, 600mm long by 300mm wide by 20mm thick, jigsaw, masking tape, paint brushes.

Step by step instructions

Use the jigsaw to cut a middle section out of each pieces of the plywood, measuring 150mm long and 20mm wide.

Brush Resene Colorwood Dark Stain onto both sides of the plywood, and wipe the excess off with a cloth. Leave to dry.
Step 3

Use the masking tape to outline the stripe pattern (if easier, mark it out using a pencil and ruler).
Step 4
Step four
Paint over the masking tape with Resene Chalk Dust, and remove the tape.
Step 5
Step five
Once completely dry, interlock the two pieces together, and fill with your favourite magazines and latest reads.
