Easy DIY: Rope basket
Handmade baskets hold a certain charm – see how easy it is to create your own with this no sew DIY version.
You will need: Scissors, rope (around 10 metres for a good-sized basket), glue gun, testpot brushes, Resene testpots in Resene Turkish Delight, Resene Freelance and Resene Good As Gold.
Step by step instructions
Step one
Bunch the rope up in lengths of threes, and paint stripes randomly using the Resene testpots, taking care not to overlap the colours. Leave to dry.
Step two
Using the glue gun, coil and glue the rope, first creating the base for the basket. Leave to dry.
Step three
Next then building up rope to create the body.
If you’re feeling confident, create a back for the basket by overlapping the rope. Leave to dry.
