How to make your own giant Jenga

Create with paint! Projects from habitat by Resene

It’s the game that combines fun with strategic thinking… and this giant version of Jenga will take it to another level.

Make a giant Jenga game for your kids

The kids will love spending time outdoors with this giant Jenga set, made using timber pieces and finished in Resene Woodsman stains. Now get stacking!

You will need

Measure wood

Step one

Measure out 270mm long pieces on the timber lengths. You will need 54 pieces altogether. Cut the pieces using a drop saw. Lightly sand each piece to give them a clean, smooth edge.

Paint stain in different colours

Step two
Divide the pieces into four piles (two piles of 13, two piles of 14).

Allow wood to dry

Step three
Stain the pieces in the first pile in Resene Pickled Bean, the second pile in Resene Tamarind, the third pile in Resene Grey Green and the fourth pile in Resene Natural. Leave to dry.

Play game

Step four
Show the kids how to stack the pieces into a Jenga pile on top of each other and let them loose!

Top tip: Paint the ends in a range of Resene FX Metallic testpots for a little extra bling that will shimmer in the sunlight.
