Create with paint! Projects from habitat by Resene

Bring a glow to your garden with Resene FX Nightlight.

Make a planter box glow in the dark pebble garden

For this feature garden, river stones have been painted in Resene Alabaster and finished in Resene FX Nightlight, which will soak up the UV rays during the day and cause the stones to glow-in-the-dark at night. Here’s how to create your own glow-in-the-dark garden.

You will need

Planter box painted in Resene Artemis and timber flooring in Resene Greywash.

Clean stones
Step one
Wash the river stones, getting rid of any dirt and algae. Fully dry.

Lay the stones out and paint the tops of each stone in Resene Alabaster. Once dry, repeat on the other side.

Step three
Create a glow-in-the-dark effect by painting two to three layers of Resene FX Nightlight onto each stone. Leave the stones to dry between each layer.

Step four
Lay the stones out in a swirl effect along your pathway or around succulents in a planter box for a striking garden feature.

Top tip: Paint a selection of stones with creative designs using Resene testpots and mix them with the glow-in-the-dark stones so you can enjoy a very different look by day and by night.
